Baby Bash
Chris and I love the great outdoors and we hope our child will share our passion. To celebrate our upcoming little bundle of joy with family and friends, we wanted to do something a little different. We opted for a co-ed baby shower, because lets be honest I am definitely not good at being the center of attention. I absolutely love the woodsy boho look. My friend and amazing decor designer Lindsay, helped to create the perfect touches. With lots of greenery, wooden elements, babies breath, and earth tone table banners. She even created all the party favours, which was white chocolate popcorn, with “Ready to Pop” embossed in gold on brown paper bags.
We decided to choose eco-friendly items such as: Perfect Stix Green Cutlery, Eco GreenStripe Cold Cups, Earth's Natural Alternative 6" Plate, Earth's Natural Alternative 9" Plate, and ALINK Biodegradable Gold Paper Straws.
I have always had a sweet tooth, and with this pregnancy that is still going strong. So I was definitely all over creating the perfect dessert table. I wanted to have a candy bar of epic portions, but I toned it down a bit with just a few selections of tasty sweet treats. My friend and work colleague Kate has an absolutely amazing cake and pastry business, so I knew all along that she would be making cupcakes for this celebration. Sweet Tooth, Pastries By Kate created the most decadent chocolate s’more cupcakes and she even designed a banana cream pie cupcake just for me, because I had been craving everything banana flavour for the past month.
It was a real eye opener to see physically just how much love and support that everyone has shown us. So many people came from out of town and drove a long way to be part of our special day to celebrate our rainbow babe. To all our friends, family, and people who have sent us money and gifts from a far, we are so thankful for your support. You all play a key role in our lives and we are glowing from your love.
We stayed up late after the party to open all the gifts. It was just like Christmas, times ten. Our little one is so spoiled already. Most of all we enjoyed reading all the personal anecdotes written within the books, instead of cards. It made them all so special. We cannot wait to read them to our little one someday soon.
