This holiday season a lot of people are looking to support smaller local shops, instead of huge corporations like Amazon that have made millions off the pandemic. Here are just a few of my favourite Canadian based shops for buying kids toys. I am sure that their are quite a few more that I have missed, please feel free to leave any of your own personal favourite shops in the comments!

Fable Kids Handmade

Amy makes the sweetest handcrafted OOak heirloom dolls. She has monthly shop updates that sell out quite quickly, because seriously her creations are that amazing! Freyja has one of her Corduroy Snuggle Ponies, but I still have my heart set on snagging one of those adorable owlets!

Forest & Wild

I fell in love with this store when I first saw Trae Designs Forest Friends! But, this small shop offers so many modern and sustainable play items.

Wood Wood Toys

This shop stocks an amazing selection of Canadian inspired  Montessori toys. One of my favourite things, is that this shop also offers pre-loved toys where you can snag some amazing deals on great toys.

Coco Village

I first took notice of Coco Village when looking for a balance bike for Freyja. They have so many other amazing Montessori inspired products, plus they are adding more all the time.

Garden Child Co.

I just recently found this cute shop! Plus, bonus points because it is located only thirty minutes away from me. I love all the little embroidery details in her characters, my favourite is definitely the sweet owl.

Little Peg People

I love everything that Brianne makes! She has such creative ideas for kids wooden toys. Plus, everything is handmade, non toxic, locally sourced and Canadian made.

All Circles

Uhmmmm….so I just found out about this Guelph based business that was started by a group of Dad’s! I think that one of their PlayBox Systems could definitely be in our future, especially in these upcoming winter months when we are stuck inside quite a bit.

Campbell’s Custom Carvings

These wooden toys are adorable! All handcrafted in Strathroy, Ontario by a husband and wife team. I secretly love the little chainsaws that they create.

Citizen Kids Toys

This Hamilton neighbourhood toy shop stocks some amazing products and features lots of Canadian sourced toys.

The Spark Box

This is a Burlington based subscription box for both Mamas and babies. It is still in its first year, but wow oh wow it looks like they have some amazing products.

LillyPost Box

I know there is both an American and Canadian LillyPost Box, but I had to include this book subscription box for any little bookworms out there. This is one of Freyja’s Christmas presents this year! She absolutely adores books, and the fact that every month she gets a few new ones is amazing. I love watching her face light up when she opens the Lillypost Box, plus bonus points because she usually plays with just the box for a good week afterwards.

Cuddle & Kind

Ohhh how could I not include Cuddle & Kind. Everyone that knows of this Canadian Brand absolutely adores their dolls. You get all the feels purchasing from this store. Every doll is hand-knit and ethically produced. And for every doll that is sold, they provide ten meals to children in need.
