On the sandy shores of Lake Huron, there lies the small beach town of Grand Bend. Unbeknownst to many there is a skilled craftsman, that works and lives here all year around. His craft is specializing in high-end custom-built canoes, kayaks, and rowboats.

With the beginning of the New Year, many people start to think about their resolutions and goals for the year to come. We often reflect on the year that has just passed, and things we may want to change or focus on in the future. For myself, the pass year has been quite busy and I have not been able to get out and shoot, as much as I would like.

Trinity Loop: An Abandoned Amusement Park
When researching places to visit in Newfoundland, I came across an article about an abandoned amusement park called, the Trinity Loop. After reading the article and viewing their photographs, I knew I had to see it with my own eyes. The Trinity Loop is a great place to visit when you are in the Trinity area. It is a quick drive from town, there is lots to explore, spooky photo opportunities, old train cars and it may even give you the heebie geebies with its ghost town feel.
Gros Morne – The Tablelands
The Tablelands, a barren reddish brown plateau that towers seven hundred metres above the Atlantic Ocean, stands alone as an alien landscape amongst the lush and hilly forests that encompasses it. Found between the towns of Trout River and Woody Point in south west of Gros Morne National Park, it was here that geologists proved the theory of plate tectonics.
